"The Elevator!" is the 204th episode of SML Movies.

Synopsis[]

Bowser Junior and his friends get stuck in an elevator on their way to meet Doofy The Dragon!

Plot[]

The video begins with Junior eagerly getting ready to watch Doofy the Dragon, but his friends, Joseph and Cody, remind him that he always gets overly excited and that it’s no longer as thrilling. As they turn on the TV, they see a commercial for a Doofy the Dragon meet-and-greet happening at the Pensacola Civic Center. The trio gets hyped and convinces Chef Pee Pee to take them. When they arrive at the civic center, Junior suddenly needs to use the bathroom. The boys spot a sign indicating the bathrooms are on the second floor, so they hop into the elevator. Once inside, the elevator stalls, and they quickly realize they’re stuck. Junior, in a panic, starts pressing random buttons, but nothing works. He tries to open the door by throwing Cody’s glasses at it, breaking them in the process. Cody is furious, but Junior insists he thought it would help.

Things escalate as Junior asks for Joseph's basketball and repeats the same failed tactic, throwing it at the door to no effect. The group argues, frustrated with Junior’s reckless ideas. Junior finally suggests using their phones to call for help, but only his phone has a signal. Rather than calling 911, he orders a pizza from Long John’s, believing that the delivery guy can rescue them. However, the signal cuts off before he can finish the order, leaving Joseph and Cody enraged. As the situation worsens, Junior’s need to pee becomes urgent. Despite protests from his friends, he finds a cup in the elevator and reluctantly, they let him use it. Afterward, Junior clumsily spills some of the urine, making things even grosser. The boys brainstorm more ways to escape, including using Ken’s “hunkiness” to open the door, which, unsurprisingly, fails.

While bickering, they discover a Bop It toy on the floor, but Junior’s attempt to play it is as useless as everything else. Hungry and desperate, Junior jokingly suggests eating Ken, causing a scuffle. Brooklyn T. Guy finally arrives and hears the chaos inside the elevator. He attempts to help by throwing his pizza box at the door, which does nothing. Brooklyn Guy tells them to check for a button to open the door, and after some back-and-forth, Junior realizes he’s been pressing the close button the entire time. Cody, beyond frustrated, beats him up again. The video ends with the trio back at the apartment eating pizza. Junior laments missing out on Doofy's meet-and-greet, and Cody blames him for the whole ordeal, even threatening to end their friendship. Junior offers Cody the last slice of pizza, but when he throws it at him, Cody loses his temper and beats up Junior one last time, concluding the video.

Production[]

In "Logan Reacts: The Elevator", this is one of Logan's favorite videos and that he says "this video was so last-second rushed as shit... the most clutch video I've ever made".

In 1:15-2:15, he states "You guys know I make two videos a week, so that means I have to get a video out like twice a week because if I don't, then it just fucks up the consistency and people get pissed. So, this video is so great because I remember I had Pablo, Lovell and Lance. We were all in the apartment, I told them to show up and usually I have a video idea in my mind when they come over and they came over, I had no video idea at all. i had no idea what i was filming that day, and we were sitting there and time was going by it was starting to get dark and I was like "fuck I need a video idea" and then I thought "I have a favorite movie called Phone Booth... and I always wanted to make a video where I stayed in one fucking area for a long time like the whole video was trapped in a confined space, so that's what I thought of, what don't I film inside an elevator, like why don't I get them stuck inside an elevator."

Originally, Logan wanted to film the elevator scenes at a hotel but knew people working there weren't gonna allow him to film. The second attempt was at Lance/Chris's College, UWF, which he succeeded (Sort of).

Logan wanted Doofy's meet and greet to be free to prevent dragging the video to Junior collecting money.

The Scene that is outside the elevator had nobody but the crew acting in character. Logan needed to figure out how they(Junior, Joseph, & Cody) are able to get through the elevator. The Cameraman filming outside the elevator was Lance. Logan's elevator strategy was too first press any button, shake the camera and suppose to be a cut scene afterwards. The Scene where Junior and his Friends got stuck had sound effects, not real sounds in the video. The elevator door was closed throughout the entire setup, making it feel though Logan and his crew were locked in.

The scene which Junior tries to click one of the elevator buttons was the hardest to make since Logan needed to make sure the doors don't open or involve fire services. Junior clicking on the buttons had sound effects.

When Cody said "I'm claustrophobic", it was based on from Logan who stated that he has claustrophobia, which is why this video was also made, outside of the Phone Booth Movie.

During the phone scene, Logan had his phone dying on his hand, and that before making it so that Junior's phone was about to die, he had 60% charged while the rest were fully charged, so he needed to kill his phone just for the

According to Logan, he stated "This scene was a pain in my fucks... I had the phone actually dying in my hand, I wanted it too. I had to explain this; My phone was at 60 percent when we got there, and everybody's phone was fully charged. So, I had to kill my phone. So, we sat there for an hour, with the flashlight on, while I play an app, to kill my phone." Tito asked "How long did that take?" Logan responded with "it took an hour."

The Long John's location was taken in Logan's apartment in front of a kitchen oven. Logan changed Lance's name to Long John's for the video. Logan wanted his phone to die but couldn't time it.

When Junior found a cup in the elevator, Logan mentioned that he found the cup, at the university and sent Lance to the vending machine to buy juice for the pee. Junior holding the pee in front of his friends was filmed one take.

Logan had no idea why he included the Bop-it scene; it was probably the original idea of the video but was never made since Logan changed his idea for the elevator. However, a future episode was made similar to the Bop-it.

Logan notices that Brooklyn Guy wasn't at the door when the elevator door opened, and that he could had Lance to hold him, disappointing with the mistake. In a SML Question, "what would you do if you got stuck in an elevator?" Logan says "I would have a panic attack... when we went to the World Trade Center I had a freakout in the elevator going up, only because i knew i had to be in there for two minutes or however long it took... and with so many people crammed in it, I was freaking out."

After the reaction, Logan tells a story about how He ended up getting caught while filming the elevator scenes, and that a female security guard, told them why they were here, and that Logan had to come up with a lie in order for them to not get kicked out, which according to him, he stated

"During filming this video, I don't really ask for permission when I film at any location (until you get caught - Tito)... it's easier to ask for forgiveness than ask for permission... so we were filming at a college inside an elevator and when you watch the video, Junior and his friends are screaming, we're screaming in an elevator, we're screaming "help, help, can't get out, stuck in an elevator". That's obviously fucking loud but that whole building was like nobody was in it. Well, there was a security guard, who walked around the college and so when we were filming, a security guard heard us and walked to see what we were doing and the security guard came up to us and you know we have pizza, apple juice, we have it spilled all over the floor, we have glass, we have a camera and the security guard comes up and says, it's a woman, and she's like "Uh, Excuse me what are y'all doing?" like mad, like she was pissed like we were caught. I was only halfway, done with the video, I wasn't even done, I needed to finish this fucking video and everyone did not say anything, it was just me, they all leave it up to me to talk and I'm like uh... she's like "are you a student here? what are you doing here? Are you supposed to be here?" and I'm like well um, I said "Yeah, I'm actually, look I'm doing a project for psychology and I'm doing a video presentation of what would happen to somebody if they were stuck in an elevator, and so I was filming, basically a skit of psychological effects of being stuck with claustrophobia in an elevator and she says "oh, really? that's so cool, I'm scared of being stuck in elevators too that'd be a really big fear of mine." and I'm like "yeah, right now we're filming like people freaking out." she believed that I was filming a project on claustrophobia for my psychology class. it fucking worked, she fucking believed it and said "if i need anything ask me and how long I'd be here?" I said "probably another hour or two" said "that's fine" and she fucking left..."

Despite Logan's perfect lie which he made up, purposely to trick the security guard, Lance didn't approve it according to Logan, which he also said "But Lance called me an idiot after she left, he's like "Logan you're a fucking idiot" I'm like "why" he's like "because you lied." I'm here to get the video! I-i want on my tombstone let me get the scene. All I want to do is get the scene and get out, that's all i want to fucking do so yeah."

Trivia[]

  • Running gags: Cody beats up Junior and calls him a motherfucker every time he makes him mad; Junior (and on one occasion Brooklyn Guy) throws things at the door and at the end at Cody.
  • This is the first episode where Cody beats up Junior.
  • This is the 3rd episode where Cody is seen without his glasses. The first two times were "The Burger!" and "Truth or Dare!".
  • This is the 4th time Brooklyn T. Guy is seen as a pizza delivery man.
  • The drawing that Bowser Junior drew from "Bowser Junior Gets Rabies!" can be seen in the fridge.
  • This is the 2nd time Bowser Junior doesn't get to see Doofy due to his own stupidity. The first time being "Bowser Junior's Broken Leg!".
  • Logan, Chris, Lovell, and Lance nearly got in trouble, but were rescued while filming this video.
    • The video was filmed at Chris and Lance's college and a security guard heard the screaming to which she nearly kicked the crew out.
  • This video got age restricted, most likely due to Doofy shooting himself, Cody beating up Junior, or because of Junior trying to pee on the floor and later drink his urine.
    • On August 22, 2019, this video has been deleted possibly because of those aforementioned reasons as to why it was age-restricted.
  • Cody is at his raging point in this episode.
  • Cody stays without glasses for the rest of the video.
  • The elevator in this video is a Kone Series 220.
  • "Fucking", "fuck", and "fucker" (x4) are censored.
  • This video was uploaded 6 years after "HD Test".

Errors[]

  • Doofy makes a contradiction in this video. In "Bowser Junior's Broken Leg!", Doofy said the meet & greet was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. But the meet & greet reappeared in this video. It could be possible that Logan forgot.
  • Brooklyn Guy wasn't at the door when it opened. This is because of how Chris both voices Cody and Brooklyn Guy, and he also is unable to do both at the same time. Since Lance had to be there to voice Doofy, he could’ve held Brooklyn Guy.
  • The fire helmet button isn't a causal button, it is a light that indicates the elevator is in fire service.

References[]

  • The plot of this video would be similar to a season 15 episode of the Nickelodeon series "SpongeBob SquarePants" entitled, "Stuck in an Elevator." Both even including a gag in where a character (Patrick in this case) uses the last of a phone's battery charge to call for a pizza delivery rather than for help.
    • The phone call scene could also be an inspiration of a Family Guy episode (Brian & Stewie) where Stewie uses the last of the phone's battery charge to call the clothing store rather than for help.
