Shelby is the mother of Junior. She first appeared in "Bowser Junior's Mom!" when Bowser called her to ask her to show up and see Junior. She's a sulcata tortoise.

- She replaces Sheila Perkins from the original "The Koopa Kids!" video.
- In "Bowser Junior's Mom!", Bowser tells his son that Shelby is his mother. However, Bowser Junior was conceived by Peach in the Mario and Luigi's Stupid and Dumb Adventures episode "Baby Mutant Turtles" (his first appearance).
- However, Mario and Luigi's Stupid and Dumb Adventures is not canon to SML Movies.
- In one of SML's vlogs, it’s said that Shelby is either lost or was stolen by one of their fans.
- She was a pet that the crew was keeping around.
- She is mentioned in "Junior's Teeth!" by Braxton as he claims that she "couldn't give up the party life", which might explain her disappearance.
- She is sometimes stated to be dead.
- She could be portrayed by a turtle puppet if she ever returns.
- It's unknown if she will have a human puppet if "Bowser Junior's Mom!" gets a remake, which is unlikely because SML Remakes ended.
- However, in SML MEET AND GREET, it is stated that Elaina wanted to make a puppet for Junior's Mom, Shelby. This could be hinting that she might return in the future.
- She and Margaret were the only remaining members of Bowser's family to not beat up Junior.
- Her name could possibly be a pun on the word "shell" as her name is Shelby and she is a turtle, which is an animal that has a shell.
