NOTICE! Logan Tries To See The Super Marvin Movie! was the April 2023 Article of the Month. |
"Logan Tries To See The Super Marvin Movie!" (also known as "Logan Tries To See The Super Mario Bros. Movie!") is the 826th episode of SML Movies.
Synopsis[]
Logan wants to see the new Super Marvin Bros movie but can't!
Plot[]
After filming the fictional "Cody's Spaghetti Arms" video, Logan asks his colleagues if they want to do something. Pablo suggests they go to the movies to see "The Super Marvin Bros. Movie". Anthony asks Pablo if he could go, but Pablo angrily declines.
At the movies, Jonathan lets Pablo, Elaina, Lovell, and Lance into the building, but doesn't let Logan in, because of a lawsuit, so Goodman kicks him out. Back home, Logan plans on putting on a disguise to go see the movie without being recognized. When Jonathan saw him, he almost recognized him, but Logan convinces him that he is his high school friend named Marcus. So, Jonathan lets him in. At the auditorium, when Logan attempts to put on his 3D glasses, he is baffled that Goodman is next to him, so Brooklyn Guy kicks him out.
Meanwhile, Lovell asks Pablo where Logan is. Pablo disturbs the other patrons behind him. He then receives a call from Logan who tells Pablo that they won't let him in the theater, because of the lawsuit. Logan asks Pablo to let him into the back exit, but Pablo refuses. So, he asks Lovell to let him in. When Logan came back in, Goodman was right behind him, and Brooklyn Guy takes Logan to jail.
At jail, Brooklyn tells Logan that the movie is for everyone who doesn't make the movie's company mad. Logan says that they don't use their characters anymore. Brooklyn disagrees, because they don't want Logan to watch that movie, because they don't want him getting any ideas. Logan asks for a phone call, so Brooklyn led him to the phone.
Logan calls Chilly and asks her to bail him out, but she can't do it, due to her motherhood. So, Logan asks if Tito can bail him out, but Tito's going to see the movie. Brooklyn drags Logan away.
Back home, the guys discuss their thoughts. Pablo loved the "Marvin Kart" scene and Cody dressing like a girl like in "that one video". Elaina was upset about the star princess person being absent. Lovell didn't like that the fire-breathing turtle was not watching Charleyyy and Friends. Lance was disappointed about Jeffy not being in it. Out of curiosity, Elaina asks where Logan is. Pablo says that he got arrested, while Elaina was getting popcorn. Pablo leaves to see Logan.
At Logan's cell, Pablo didn't come to bail Logan out, but he tells him about the movie. Junior is not in it, but Cody is. Logan asks how it ends. When Pablo attempts to explain how it ends, Brooklyn stops him before he can. Brooklyn takes Logan to court, leading Pablo to put his robe on.
At court, Pablo, playing as Judge Pooby, asks Logan why he was trying to sneak into the movie. Logan explained that he tried to pay for it and they didn't let him in, so he snuck in. They wouldn't let him in, because the company that made the movie sued him one time for using their characters. Logan paid $40, and they didn't give him his money back. Goodman tells Pablo that the door he broke into had a sign saying trespassers would be prosecuted, meaning Logan knowingly broke the law. Logan affirms that he just wanted to watch the movie. The judge lets Logan choose his sentences. He could either be sentenced to life in prison in solitary confinement, preventing him from getting access to the movie, or have his eyes and ears surgically removed. Logan nervously chooses the latter.
Logan comes home eyeless and earless, scaring the others except Lance (who still cares about Jeffy only). Pablo explains to the gang about what happened to Logan. Lovell comments that was harsh. Pablo says the movie was great, though.

- This episode was uploaded three years after "Bowser's Change!", six years after "Jeffy Loses His Pencil!", and fifteen years after "The Caramelldensen".
- The episode was released two weeks after The Super Mario Bros. Movie premiered worldwide.
- Logan not being able to see The Super Mario Bros. Movie is simply an in-universe concept and parody of the 2021 Cease and Desist letter, as in real life, it doesn't restrict him from consuming Nintendo products, only from using the characters in his videos.
- Cody dressing like a girl is mentioned, referencing Chef Pee Pee's Bucket List!, Junior's 13th Birthday!, and other SML Movies.
- Lance talking about how anything would get more views if it had Jeffy in it references most of Logan's fanbase being Jeffy fans.
- This is one of the very rare times where Earthy Crust by Jingle Punks plays at the beginning of the video.
- This episode marks the return of Goodman telling someone to “get the fuck out”.
- This video features Marvin's name in the title, even though he doesn't appear.
- This is the first time Mario/Marvin's name is in the title of a video since "Mario Sells Jeffy!", and the first video to have Marvin's name in the title after his rename.
- This is the second episode to solely focus on the cast as characters. The first time was Jeffy Loses His Voice!.
- This was the second time SML films at an actual movie theater. The first was Bowser Goes to the Movies!.

References[]
Warning: Minor spoilers for The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
- The Super Marvin Bros. Movie is a parody of The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
- This episode is a reference to the Nintendo Cease and Desist controversy.
- Logan being unable to see The Super Marvin Movie while the rest of the crew could is a reference to how the Cease and Desist only applies to Logan's channels.
- The references to the movie are as follows:
- The term "Marvin Kart" references the scene in which Mario, Toad, Peach and the Kongs are confronted by Bowser's Koopa Army on Rainbow Road, resulting in a huge battle breaking out between the two sides.
- Cody dressing like a girl references Bowser practicing the speech he prepared for his marriage proposal to Peach, in which Kamek is dressed as the princess. The movie's scene itself references 2009's New Super Mario Bros. Wii, in which after first defeating Bowser, Kamek is revealed to have disguised himself as Peach. As mentioned above, the video compares the scene to when Cody did something similar in Chef Pee Pee's Bucket List.
- Finally, Pooby notes the absence of Junior in the movie, as does Elaina with Rosalina, the latter of which being a character many thought would appear in some way.
Errors[]
- In the description, the word "can't" is missing an apostrophe.
- Anthony was not invited to the movies at the beginning, but during the middle of the video, he's seen in the back row with Wendy and Will. It's possible that he snuck in without getting caught.
- At 4:24, Lance can be seen hiding Goodman off camera.
- Mario, Toad, Peach's Castle, and the logo accidentally appear in the teaser poster outside the AMC theater. They were also seen mirrored.
- At 6:45, when Judge Pooby stops banging his gavel, a hit sound effect still plays.
