"Jeffy The Good Boy!" is the 557th episode of SML Movies.

Synopsis[]

Jeffy has to be a good boy to get the new Xbox and Playstation!

Plot[]

The video opens with Jeffy hosting a quiz show, and if Mario guesses that Jeffy's helmet color, he has to buy the new PlayStation 5 and the new Xbox. Mario doesn't want to play but Jeffy forces him to play. Mario doesn't want to buy the consoles for him so he purposely guesses that his helmet is red instead of blue, but Jeffy changes his helmet so Mario could get it right!

Jeffy attempts to get Mario to buy the PS5 and Xbox Series X, but Mario says no. Rosalina creates a good boy chart and says that if Jeffy does 25 good things he can get one of the consoles and Mario tells Jeffy to clean the kitchen.

Jeffy breaks the dishes in the kitchen under Junior’s ideas and Black Yoshi bargains with Jeffy to trick Rosalina and Mario by stealing the gold stars and putting them on the chart.

Jeffy then gets both of the consoles, but they bought the download only versions of the consoles and Black Yoshi argued to Jeffy that they're not good enough so Jeffy has to convince Mario and Rosalina to buy them the better versions of the consoles. Black Yoshi and Jeffy smashed the download only consoles by dropping them from a height. Black Yoshi then tells Jeffy to show the damaged consoles to said parents and tell them that it came like that, they then went back to the store to buy the consoles with a disc drive. After buying the consoles, Mario and Rosalina eventually realize that it’s a trick. In the end, Jeffy and Black Yoshi are both grounded and Mario and Rosalina play with the consoles.

Characters[]

Trivia[]

  • Black Yoshi returns in this video. He has not appeared since "Jeffy's Car Accident!". This is also his fourth and final 2020 appearance.
    • This could be that he was in jail for 6 months, or it could just be a pure coincidence that he didn't appear.
  • This is the third video where Jeffy uses his British accent and the first time he does a Western accent.
  • This is the second consecutive video that is uploaded on a holiday. In this case it is Diwali, a festival of lights celebrated by Hindus.
  • This is the first episode where Jeffy physically wore a red helmet.
    • Jeffy wearing a red helmet is probably a reference to Lance's meet the cast where they said Jeffy’s helmet was originally gonna be red.
  • Despite the title, Jeffy never genuinely becomes a good boy and ends up cheating the gold star system.
  • Jeffy’s smart side is shown as he is shown to be aware that life wouldn’t be possible without the sun.
  • This episode features a rare occurrence where two characters played by the same actor talk at the same time. In this case, it's Jeffy and Black Yoshi (both of whom are played by Lance Thirtyacre) who say "What?!" simultaneously after Mario and Rosalina decide to play the consoles and then also groan simultaneously at the end.
  • This is the second time two characters get punished in the same video. The first being "Jeffy and Junior Skip School!".
  • This is Black Yoshi's first time getting grounded on screen, although he is not Mario's son.
    • This is one of the very few times where Mario actually punishes Black Yoshi.
  • This is also one of the very few times where Rosalina actually punishes Jeffy.
  • This is the fifth video where Jeffy and Black Yoshi interact with each other.
  • This episode was uploaded three years after "Jeffy's Bike!", ten years after the release of Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem!, fifteen years after the release of Mario Kart DS and 20 years after the release of the first 3-2-1 Penguins Episode: Trouble on Planet Wait-Your-Turn.
  • This is the second time within the span of a month where Old Yeller was mentioned, quite possibly indicating that it'll be a running gag.
  • Black Yoshi threatening to tell Jeffy's dad is similar to how in some videos, Chef Pee Pee threatens to tell Junior's dad.
  • This is Bowser Junior's 5th appearance in a row.
  • Black Yoshi said that internet is required at all times on the digital editions; However, you still need internet if you were using a physical copy of a game which is online such as Call Of Duty. It is possible that he wanted the Xbox Series X because it is more powerful than the Series S and he is more comfortable with the physical copies of video games. As seen in other videos, he has never bought a game digitally.
  • They were playing their consoles, but in "Jeffy's Pet Dinosaur!", they don't have them. It's because Goodman steals their systems because they don't have their house payment or Mario decided to donate them.

References[]

  • The BTS thumbnail has both BB-8 from Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Baby Yoda/Grogu from The Mandalorian.
  • This video is a homage to Leland from the Kid Temper Tantrum series of videos from Oh Shiitake Mushrooms's obsessions with the new Xbox.

Errors[]

  • Mario and Rosalina were playing different systems on the same TV.
    • However, this could be argued, if they were playing on two different screens.
  • Mario's PS5 controller wasn't on when he was playing.
  • It is unknown how Black Yoshi was bailed out of jail. It is possible that he escaped or Mario made enough money to bail him out.
  • When Jeffy said the disc PS5 is stronger than the digital PS5, it’s not. Both PS5 editions have the same specs.
  • Mario shouldn't have not grounded Jeffy because he didn't break the PlayStation 5 and Xbox, He would have told Mario that Black Yoshi did it, But he still gets grounded for lying, cheating on the good boy chart, He was a good boy in the video but he cheated by adding the stars making him a bad boy, So Jeffy would been a good boy for telling the truth if he would done it in the video.
  • It's unknown why Mario didn't hear Black Yoshi and Jeffy throwing the consoles down the floor, as he hears Jeffy breaking things when he is in the living room.
  • Mario can't ground Black Yoshi because he's not his dad, or maybe Mario forgot he didn't have parents.
