"An art duel!"
— Jacques challenging Bowser Junior

Jacques Pierre François is a very famous French painter who was the biological father of Jeffy.

Formally thought to be dead for the duration of the series, François revealed he was living the entire time during a TV broadcast in Jeffy's 18th Birthday!, where he appears as a minor character.

History[]

François was born in January 15th, 1976 in Paris, France, his family was wealth, and in his childhood, he dropped out of school and made many famous paintings. On November 27th 2003, When he was an adult, he met Nancy, who drugged and sexually assaulted him, which results in her later giving birth to Jeffy on August 21st, 2004.

Eventually, he made a painting called "The Fart" on August 15th, 2015. His ultimate claim to fame, however, was with his painting titled "The Sneeze" (which consisted of him putting paint in his nose then sneezing it out on the canvas), which was displayed on the news by Goodman. He claimed that it took him three years to paint it. He then stumbled upon Junior on the news and became jealous and decided to challenge him to an art duel. Junior got in this deal and agreed to battle for their rights to paint. Ultimately, he defeated him in the art duel by cutting his ear off and pasting it on a black canvas, which he called "The Sacrifice."

He is later revealed to be the father of Jeffy in "Jeffy's Parents!". It was said that he committed suicide in the same episode for his painting called "The Suicide", and he had left all of his money to Jeffy as inheritance money once he turns 18. In the remake, it was said that he fell off a bridge shortly after making "a painting", possibly to avoid demonetization.

In "Jeffy's 18th Birthday!", it's revealed that he faked his death so the prices of his paintings would go up.

In "Cody's Drawing!" It's revealed that Jacques is in his 40's, while Steve Staleburger was announcing the contestants.

Quotes[]

  • "I am Jacques Pierre François. And I challenge you to an Art Duel."
  • "Both of us will make an entirely new painting. And if I win, I get your $50 million. If you win, you get my $30 million, and the loser never paints again!"
  • "Oui Oui."
  • "You dropped this on the plate, didn't you?"
  • "Well, if you use the brush like you claim, then you might have an Art Duel!"
  • "NO! There can be no tie in art!"
  • "An Art Duel!"
  • "What is the matter? Are you, as you Americans say, 'turkey'? Gobble gobble?"
  • "When I close my eyes, it is what I see."
  • "I will do anything for art."
  • "Ah yes, the boy. Listen son if you're watching this? Look into the camera, look at your papa. Fuck off!"
  • "That is, as you Americans say, too bad so sad."
  • "Don't hate me cause you ain't me."
  • "I call it, The Hangman."
  • ”Ma’am, I really need to go to Paris, I have an art show.”

Trivia[]

  • In "Jeffy's Brain!", it is revealed that he taught his son Jeffy to speak French.
  • Jacques Pierre François's name anglicized to English would be "John Peter Francis".
  • Jacques Pierre François name came from French artists such as Jean Pierre and Charles François.
  • The ear of his puppet is actually magnetic as it can actually be taken off and on.
  • Jacques cutting his ear off is a reference to Vincent Van Gogh, a famous Dutch painter who cut off his ear.
  • According to Logan in his reaction video to Bowser Juniors Painting, at first when he made the character he was worried about keeping a cigarette in the puppets mouth.
  • The reason why he has a cigarette in his mouth is because of the stereotype of French people smoking a lot.
  • He was the first character to die in 2017 but since his death was faked, the first death in 2017 was technically Robot Chef Pee Pee (character).
  • He is somewhat similar to Mr Goodman, as they are both greedy individuals that don't care about anything else but money.
  • Its revealed in Jeffy's 20th Birthday! that Jacques never married Nancy or loved her. She brought him into her house, drugged him and sexually harassed him in his sleep, thus how Jeffy was born. He was never seen interacting with Jeffy.
  • It was revealed that he was the one who wrote the mysterious torn note. The note states he lives in Jeffy Street in Paris, France.
    • The note also lists Jeffy's name as Jeffy Jeffy François.
  • As the note states to return Jeffy to his father, it's likely Jacques still cared for Jeffy. This brings up the question as to why Nancy chose not to drop Jeffy off at Jacques's home when she abandoned him, but it is possible she didn't do this because she hates him and only cares about his money.
    • However in "Jeffy's 18th Birthday!", he tells Jeffy if that if he is watching to "Fuck off." This shows that he might have some contempt towards Jeffy.
    • In Jeffy's 20th Birthday!, its revealed that Jacques was never around for Jeffy since he never married Nancy; he was r**ed by Nancy to impregnate her. So its unlikely that Jacques knew about Jeffy's existence and wrote the note. Its possible Nancy was really the one who wrote the note.
  • Though most characters have died and were revived in the next and/or future video(s), Jacques Pierre François is one of few characters to have died and stayed dead, due to canon in SML.
  • His voice and French accent sound similar to that of Inspector Clouseau from the Pink Panther series.
  • He is the only family member of Jeffy that is alive.
  • In "Cody's Drawing!", It was mentioned that Jacques Pierre François is in his 40s and that he never graduated the 5th grade.
  • Jacques is the second character to fake his death for a period of time the first character was Joseph's Mom.
  • Despite being Jeffy's biological father, they never interacted on screen.
  • In "Jeffy Plays Soccer!, it is revealed that he owned a soccer team called the French Bulldogs, which they never lost a game until the Saudi Arabian Camels beat them in the episode, which resulted in him selling the French Bulldogs team.
