James "Jimmy" Goodman (more commonly referred to as Mr. Goodman, or by his last name Goodman),[2] is a wealthy CEO, multi-billionaire, landlord, news reporter, former cop, and most importantly, crime boss who is best known for collection of house payments, notably at Marvin's house. Goodman is a middle-aged man who appears to be really tall, virtually towering over most characters in SML and has a deep voice and usually talks in a very angry-like manner. He used to cuss or uses crude, sexual dialogue in every sentence (however, in SuperBowserLogan, the cussing was dropped due to Logan's previous two channels getting demonetized; his swearing dialogue was later reinstated on the current SML channel). He is an evil, heartless man who does nothing but torture Marvin, Braxton, and the rest of their family. He also makes threats such as ripping off nipples and sewing his ball sack to people who don't pay their house payments, particularly constantly extorting Marvin under the guise of house payments.
In older episodes, when he was a cop, he was the arch-nemesis of Black Yoshi and Tyrone, and a best friend of Mario (Marvin). In newer videos when he became a millionaire since he retired from his police job, he is now currently Marvin's frenemy and/or possibly sometimes Chef Pee Pee's frenemy when he cooks. He is the 3rd richest person in SML history, after King Strongbottom and his father Frank Goodman. He used to be known for his countless number of jobs, sometimes having them all at the same time. He also tends to find ways to not pay for anything and hide his money from the IRS so he can stay rich forever.
Not only is he rich, but he is "rich as fuck". He only loves his money and only needs his money. Rather than evicting Marvin when he does not pay his house payments, he tries threatening him when he says he will bite off his testicles and wants Marvin to feel pure pain to his body. He lost his Rosso Mars 2018 Lamborghini Huracan Performance and his Rosso Mars 2015 Lamborghini Aventador, because of the recent divorce of Chilly and Logan and they have no scene for them to have a car. In previous episodes, he rode a Barbie bike to Marvin's house for his house payment.
In recent episodes, Goodman isn't as demanding, and he won't be mad the first time Marvin meets him. He is the longest surviving human puppet in the entire series, with Chef Pee Pee being second, and Brooklyn Guy being third[3]. He is also the first puppet to appear in SuperMarioLogan.

Early Life[]
James Goodman was born on August 16, 1960, as one of the twelve illegitimate sons of ruthless billionaire tycoon, Frank Goodman and his mistress. His father was hinted to be very abusive to James, and never loved him. He was the youngest of 12 siblings with Frank looking down on him the most. He seemed to have a better relationship with his mother who made him blue pancakes as a kid. At some point; Frank kicked Goodman out of his mansion forcing him to live a middle class life for a time.
He won a national bowling championship in his early 20s.

He was the head police chief from 2002 up to 2015 and was the landlord of the apartment complex where Marvin lived. In older episodes, when he was a cop, he was the arch-nemesis of Black Yoshi and Tyrone.
He quit his job as the police chief in 2015 when he pulled a slip and fall scam in Walmart, and become a millionaire. Though he never managed to reach the level of his father, Frank, who was a billionaire. The Chief later replaced him as chief of the police department.
He's now the owner of GoFundMe, Walmart, Nintendo, Domino's Pizza, Goodman Bank and Trust, and Jimmy Johns.
He used to dislike crimes and criminals, but now, he loves crimes and criminals (he himself is heavily implied to be a powerful crime boss), but he does not like crimes that happen to him, which could mean criminals stealing his cash and he does not like working for criminals.
As of today, he has stopped being a good guy and spends his days dealing with his now arch-enemy Mario, becoming a billionaire, and obsessing over money.
Personality[]
Goodman used to be a really kind person who helped others when they needed it and only ever had the best of intentions in the earlier episodes of SML, which most likely explains why the show's makers gave him that moniker as his last name is spelt good man. However, as soon as he rose to the position of being a powerful and wealthy CEO, which very likely led to his corruption, he ceased to be the person he once was and changed into an evil, selfish, heartless, sadistic, narcissistic, sociopathic, and overreacting criminal kingpin who will kill people in order to steal money from the working class.
He usually tortures Marvin by threatening to either kill him or take everything he owns if he doesn't fix his problems or give him money. This makes Marvin afraid to even stand up to him.
He's always trying to get money, even if it means suing companies for little to no reasons, like water on the floor or being slightly hit by one of the company's cars.
Whenever a person is late on paying their debt to him, he flips out, insults them, and says they "fucked" him. He is a complete tyrant and will constantly harass Marvin and even threaten him with cruel and unusual punishments since the police are incredibly corrupt and take bribes without hesitation, essentially allowing Goodman to use the police as his personal army to enforce his reign of terror. And even then, people like Marvin don't have any debts to him, rather he is extorting them and knows he can get away with it because every police officer in the county accepts bribes without a second thought.
These threats include biting off Marvin's scrotum, sewing his scrotum to Marvin's mouth, tearing off Marvin's nipples by giving him a purple nurple and then eating his nipples, turn Marvin's testicles into applesauce, stretching Marvin's nipples out to use as a jump rope, shoving a screwdriver up Marvin's ass, using a machine created by Dr. Finkleshitz to enlarge Marvin's nipples and then eat them, and outright killing Marvin. He also likes ripping people's balls off and eating them. He once managed to eat at Black Yoshi's nipples in retaliation for the latter scamming him during the COVID-19 pandemic.
He claims that he threatens to do these things to give Marvin a visual of the pain he “causes” Goodman every time he inconveniences him.
Goodman occasionally also shows a dumber side. For example, he agreed with Jeffy that 8-4 equals to 8, self-harmed himself by squeezing his scrotum when Marvin asked him for $15,000 to bail Black Yoshi out of prison and thought he was dead when Brooklyn T. Guy deactivated the fuse-box in order to steal his watch.
Goodman shows absolutely no signs of empathy and/or sympathy, as when Brooklyn Guy lied that he needed his car in order to save orphans, Goodman refused and told him that it was not his problem. Occasionally, he's shown to be an abusive father towards his sons, Richard and Benjamin, like smacking Richard's Air Pods off his ears and leaving Benjamin with Marvin after stating he didn't want him. He is fully aware that he is a bad person, and it physically pains him whenever he does something nice, such as when he finished paying off Marvin's house for him after winning the lottery using a ticket he stole from Marvin. Goodman also was trying to win the get out of hell pass since he knows what he is doing is bad and wanted to avoid having to face the consequences of his actions come his judgement day, but the costume contest claiming to give it to the winner was nothing more than Craig's weird brand of evil. This also shows he is aware of his bad actions, but instead of trying to stop, he still continues doing them.
Despite everything, though, Goodman has shown signs that his old self is still buried deep down. In Attack of the Killer Shrimp!, he begged Dr. Fredrick Finkleshitz to save the Earth from an asteroid, and in Precious's Biggest Fan!, he's visibly shown holding back tears while reporting on Precious's death, showing that even he was a fan of her music. He is also shown to be honorable with his house payment patients, with such example being where he awards Marvin with not having to pay his house payment for the month if he completes a certain task he asks or does something truly kind to him.

- Goodman rarely asked Mario for his house payment and threaten him in 2019. He would come for a house payment in Mr. Goodman's Son!, in a very civil manner and wasn't mad when Mario couldn't make the payment, instead offering an alternative that Mario easily followed through on (though only because Richard was mostly pestering Junior and his friends). He also demands the payment in Jeffy's Halloween! where Jeffy gives Patrick the money for Halloween and Mario had to find him to get the money back for Goodman. He would finally ask for Mario's house payment in Jeffy's Commercial! where he was paid with Jeffy's money from the SML merch sales, much to his delight.
- Despite being currently an antagonist, Goodman is sometimes shown to have a good side such as when he talks to Dr. Fredrick Finkleshitz about stopping an asteroid from killing everyone on Earth in "The Asteroid!" and when he gets Mario's house back to Mario since the house was sold to The Loan Dolphin and since Mario was homeless (though he only did it on the condition that he could raise the interest rate on Mario's mortgage to 1000%).

- Goodman is similar to the Mega64 character Marcus in look, being voiced by well-known member, Shawn Chatfield. This is mainly due to both being based on the same puppet.
- Goodman has developed an attitude similar to Biff Tannen from specifically Back to the Future Part II; both are irritable, tyrannical and have bad relationships with family members. They have even experienced wealth and have used women as objects.
- In Jeffy's Big Mess!, it is revealed that the reason why Goodman targets Mario for things like his house payments is that he is Goodman's favorite victim as he's famous and a mascot, but also to get revenge at him for cutting the couch in "The Koopalings! Part 2" even though he actually didn't do it.
- It was revealed in The Dance Marathon! than Goodman never owned Marvin's house and was instead stealing his money in the form of fake house payments.
- In Lance's latest Live Chat video, a fan named The Smash Kid asks Jeffy to beat up Goodman, with Lance saying that if he had someone to hold the camera, he would definitely do it.
- His 2016 onwards persona is similar to the character Bryce Tankthrust from the Youtube Channel Brandon Rogers, as both are rich, are the CEOs of many companies, and are rather rude to people. He is also quite similar to Henry F. Potter from It's a Wonderful Life, albeit a much more ruthless and bloodthirsty version.
- As of Mr. Goodman's Father!, he is worth $2.5 trillion dollars. At the beginning of the episode, he claimed that he was only worth $500 billion dollars, though he received his father's $2 trillion dollars.
- It is possible that the current Goodman is actually one of his 12 brothers who turned evil and bad, which is something that will most likely not be confirmed anytime soon.
- He, Mario, Bowser, Black Yoshi, Shrek and Toad are the only characters from the old era that are still in the show.
- He and Shrek are also two of the characters from the old era that aren't from Nintendo.
- Goodman is potentially over 6'4 as in The Divorce! Tom Brady (who is 6'4) remarked on his towering height saying he should play football while looking up to him so this shows Goodman is at least over 6'5 so he could be at least close to 7'0 so Goodman's height is 6'5 - 7'0 or taller however Goodman being taller than 7'0 is unlikely but possible.
