"Cody's Bad Word!" is the 756th episode of SML Movies.

Synopsis[]

Cody says inward!

Plot[]

The video starts off with Junior, Joseph and Cody playing Jenga. Joseph is pushing a piece outward, when Cody tells him to just pull it inward. This shocks Junior and angers Joseph, both thinking that he instead said "Pull it, n-word". Cody tries to explain that that's not what he said, but Junior and Joseph don't believe it and call him a racist. Cody, trying to prove he didn't say the n-word, spells inward, but Joseph and Junior believe he's just trying to come up with new ways to say the n-word and call him racist again. Cody gets a dictionary, flips it to the I section, and shows the word "inward" and its definition, but Joseph gets even madder, and calls him racist. Cody just wants everyone to forget about it, to which Junior and Joseph say that they'll never forget about this incident. The three start a new game of Jenga. During this new game, Joseph ends up collapsing the tower. Eventually, they get called to eat food. Chef Pee Pee gets KFC, to which Cody points out the obviously racial energy emerging from its very presence. Cody asks Joseph to pass the gravy, to which Joseph replies that he's not his slave. Cody then asks Junior to pass him the gravy, to which Junior also denies.

Cody then just gets the gravy himself, still angering Joseph. Cody decides he is not hungry anymore and goes upstairs. Cody is in the living room, coloring a picture of Ariel. When Junior and Joseph come in, they flip out once again, since he colored Ariel white. They tell him off, claiming that that Cody only knows of one race: the white race. The two tell Cody to read the label of a black crayon and tell him to read the Spanish word for black, being "negro". Cody denies this, saying that "negro" is still an offensive word, and if he said it, Junior and Joseph would just get mad again. He apologizes to Joseph, but he doesn't accept it. Junior then asks him some questions to prove that Cody isn't racist, the first being which king out of every known king is his favorite. Cody answers King Tut, but they get mad, since he didn't choose Martin Luther King, the "king of the blacks". The next question he asks is who his favorite president is. He answers Obama, but they get mad again because he didn't say President Abraham Lincoln, the man who freed the slaves. The final question is which cat is considered unlucky.

Even though he is hesitant, he answers black. The two get mad yet again because he didn't say gray or white. Cody decides to play Clash of Clans on his phone, yet they get mad again, because they think the spelling of "Clans" has a K in it, so they call him racist once more. Joseph decides he's had it, and leaves. The doorbell rings, and Junior answers the door. It's Tyrone and Judy, and they are there to pick up Cody for a family bath night. Junior then rats out Cody and tells his parents that he said the n-word 30 times, surprising Judy and making Tyrone furious. Judy tells Cody that he has to apologize to Joseph. Cody apologizes to Joseph, in a way which finally satisfies them. They are happy he finally changed, and then they go to watch TV. But unfortunately, one of the 4 light bulbs on the ceiling fan goes out and makes the room a little darker. Cody says that it is darker in the room, which makes Junior and Joseph mad again, because they think that he reverted back to being a racist. Cody, obviously mad, says he's had it and he leaves, ending the episode.

Trivia[]

  • This video was uploaded two years after "Jeffy's Big Idea!" and six years after "New House Tour!".
  • This video is similar to "Jeffy's Bad Word!":
    • Both videos involve somebody saying a bad word. (In this video, it's inward misinterpreted as "n-word", while in the other video, it's f*****.)
    • Both contain characters being falsely accused of something that they never committed.
    • Both videos have been incredibly panned by fans.
  • Logan asked in the pinned comment for this video if they should do a video where Cody gets new friends. This indicates that he's aware of the recent backlash over Junior and Joseph's stupidity and rude personalities and wants to apologize to fans by introducing new friends to Cody.
    • However, it's unknown when the video will come out.
  • The SML Question was reused from "Cody's Real Dad!".
  • Junior and Joseph's nonstop accusations towards Cody is poking fun at woke people on the internet (particularly on social media platforms such as Twitter) hatefully and unnecessarily blaming others for being racist all the time.
    • There has been some suspicion that this video is based on how Logan was recently accused of being racist on Twitter when someone claimed that Duggie resembled blackface.
  • Junior can be considered a hypocrite here for accusing Cody of saying the n-word while he has said it in the past (along with other slurs) and has been racist to black folks in general, especially since he has used the slur in full and not just "n-word", like what Cody was accused of calling Joseph.
  • Ironically, Joseph was the actual racist one in the video, as he insulted Cody with racial slurs against white people, such as "cracker", “whitey”, and "honky".
  • On the 27th of December 2022, someone hated the video so bad, that they started a petition to try to get it taken down.[1]
    • The Petition was removed later on.
  • The n-word that Joseph said multiple times during the video is censored, making this the most profane censored SML Movie alongside "Chef Pee Pee's Lottery Ticket", "Jeffy's Homework!", and "Cool Cody!" (although "Cool Cody!" has uncensored bad words).

Cultural References[]

  • Joseph and Junior shaming Cody for coloring Ariel like her animated counterpart instead of the Halle Bailey version is based on people on Twitter who were accusing fans of the original film of being racist for not liking the live action remake.
  • King Louis XIV is mentioned as a possible king to which king is Cody's favorite king in history.

Errors[]

  • Joseph said that Chloe Bailey was the new actress for Ariel in the upcoming live action remake of The Little Mermaid, when it is actually Halle Bailey (Chloe's sister). However, this was intentionally said for comedic effect.
  • Joseph actually was pushing the piece inwards. The right for Cody to say was to pull it outward.
  • Junior and Joseph accuse Cody of being raised by The Ku Klux Klan or being a member of it, when he is Jewish and The KKK is known to hate Jews as well as black people and other minority groups as they are discriminating and a white supremacist group. It's possible that they didn't know, they were joking, or they were trying to shame him some more.
  • Junior and Joseph think Cody is racist for choosing King Tut as his favorite king in history, even though King Tut was black.
  • The title of the video and the thumbnail was misleading as despite the episode being titled "Cody's Bad Word!", Cody never said a bad word in the video because as he said the word inward the whole time, while Junior and Joseph believe that Cody said "Pull it, n-word", making this a misinterpretation.
