Synopsis[]
Brooklyn Guy can read minds!
Plot[]
Brooklyn Guy is sitting on the couch, beer in hand. His wife, Karen goes up to him and asks why he has the TV off, with Brooklyn Guy responding that there was nothing to watch on TV. Karen then tells Brooklyn Guy that the lightbulb in their lamp was out and asks him to change it. Karen gives him a new lightbulb, but she accidentally drops it in a cup of water. Karen still gives the wet lightbulb to Brooklyn, and when he tries to connect the lightbulb, he gets electrocuted.
Brooklyn Guy shortly wakes up and is furious at Karen. Brooklyn then hears Karen's thoughts, revealing that she was going to surprise Brooklyn with tickets to the Bahamas. Karen then suggests to Brooklyn that he can read minds and was a superhero, to which Brooklyn disagrees, but after he reads Karen's mind two more times, He sees that he can read minds.
The doorbell rings and Brooklyn Guy goes to answer it. It's Jonathan, and he tells Brooklyn that he came to bring him some coffee. But Brooklyn Guy reads his mind and learns his true intentions. Jonathan actually put sleeping pills in the coffee, and after Brooklyn Guy drinks the coffee and passes out, he would get time to flirt with Karen. Brooklyn Guy confronts Jonathan and reveals to him that he can read minds, including Johnathan's.
After closing the door, Brooklyn runs into Penelope. Penelope tells him that she was going to a friend's party, and that everyone was going to be there, but Brooklyn Guy refuses to let her go. Brooklyn Guy reads her mind and learns that Penelope was planning to sneak about the window while he was asleep. As a result, Brooklyn puts her in a cat carrier and locks her in it. He then gets a call from Chief, telling him that he had to go on duty that night, since he was sick. But Brooklyn Guy reads his mind, learning that Chief was lying, and actually wanted to watch a documentary about how donuts were made. Brooklyn tells Penelope that she would be let out in the morning, much to her dismay.
When Brooklyn goes on duty, he sees a car speeding and pulls it over. He confronts the driver, and the driver apologizes to him. Brooklyn then reads the driver's mind and learns that the driver had a dead body in the car truck. he arrests the driver, but before he drives him to the police station, he finds out his car needs more fuel but has very little money left for gas. He finds a lost debit card, and Crush approaches him to see if he has it. Brooklyn tricks him with his powers into redirecting him and using the debit card for himself, but is quickly arrested after the surveillance footage is sent to the police department.
The next day, Brooklyn becomes close to being ruled guilty, but reads the judge's mind and perfectly recites Bonesaw McGraw's lines from the movie Spider-Man. Brooklyn is subsequently released and goes to Marvin's house after a one-night stand, but finds out that everyone is thinking about Bonesaw McGraw's lines. Annoyed, Brooklyn tases himself and removes his powers.
