Benjamin Franklin Goodman is the youngest son of Mr. Goodman and the brother of Richard Goodman. He was conceived during a one-session stand between Goodman and his personal yoga instructor. He was then given to Mario by Mr. Goodman, who was attempting to ditch the baby and avoid child support. He serves as the main antagonist of “Mr. Goodman's Baby!” and returns again in the episode called “Bowser Junior the Babysitter!”.
Personality[]
Benjamin, in his debut, seems to act just like his father and brother, disliking Mario and referring to everything that he dislikes as "poor". He also liked to "cry" frequently by yelling "WAH!" until he got what he wanted. He also appears to be very smart for his age, based on the mere fact that he can speak and that he knows that his baby immune system cannot handle sunlight.
In Bowser Junior The Babysitter, he seems to be much nicer than before. He regained his trait of liking to cry and learned to sing a song about how rich he is compared to other people. In the video, it seems like other than crying to make people he doesn’t like miserable, he also does it for attention, as he seem upset when telling Chef Pee Pee Junior left him to play video games. This could imply similar to Richard, deep down, Benjamin's a good kid, only acting the way he does because of his Father, even if he isn’t as abused as much as Richard.
Trivia[]
- It's possible that Goodman likes Benjamin more than Richard.
- Benjamin cusses and pretends to cry by saying "WAH!" over and over again. He will do anything to make the lives of the people he hates miserable.
- It is never explained how Benjamin can talk, but it may be that being rich allows him to ignore the laws of nature, and most likely for comedic purposes.
- Benjamin initially had an incredibly spoiled, rude, and profane personality in his debut before becoming nicer, calmer, and less spoiled, and not cursing due to SML avoiding the use of swear words, in “Bowser Junior the Babysitter!”.
- He is likely based on the Boss Baby and/or Stewie Griffin, as both are spoiled, whiny, selfish, mature and very smart, and speak fluently, except both have feelings for people.
- As the baby can speak fluently and has a moustache, some fans believe Mr. Goodman may have actually created him with Cody's B-B-B-Baby Machine! and he was dumped on Mario to torture him for missing his house payment, or he may have had an affair, either with Rosalina (likely forced to punish Mario, or consensual due to Rosalina's troubling history of cheating on Mario in front of him), who was absent between “Jeffy's Summer School” and “Doctor Jeffy!” due to being pregnant with Benjamin and them not wanting to reveal the pregnancy and affair, or Nancy, Judy, Debra or Mrs. Coleman. The latter theory may have been debunked in “Bowser Junior the Babysitter!”, as Goodman stated his side chick, possibly the yoga instructor, hates kids, and again in “Mario Sells Jeffy!”, when he gives Rosalina a dirty look and ignores her when she greets him, possibly because he only wanted to talk to Mario.
- Goodman states that he named Benjamin after the person on his favorite piece of money, a $100 bill, Benjamin Franklin, one of the Founding Fathers of the United States.
- Benjamin was the youngest known SML character in the series (as stated by Logan in a recent Q&A video on Lance's channel) until the birth of Jeffy Junior II.
- Benjamin Goodman is a Baby Boy glove puppet by Sunny Toys, which can be found here.
- The mustache on Benjamin Goodman is actually stitched or glued on him by Logan since the original puppet didn’t have a mustache.
- Benjamin's song that he sang in Bowser Junior The Babysitter was to the tune of "Do Your Ears Hang Low?".
- It is unknown if Logan will bring Benjamin back on SML after 4 years. Since his last appearance back in 2020.
- He makes an appearance in "SML GOODMAN PLAYS THE SIMS! Part 1" in the SML Gaming channel.
- Despite not appearing in The life of Goodman, he most likely still lives with his father.
- It's possible that Benjamin doesn't do the same activities in the morning as his family.
