SML Animated

Hi guys, I'm Smleditorguy. (Insert cheesy applause)

And today, I've recapped a Meet and Greet for the first time since... IDK it's been a while. I'd love to say there were some earth shattering reveals but.. not really. There were a few things I think might be interesting to some though, so here you go so you don't have to watch four hours of livestream.

Note as always, just about everything here comes from a secondary source in Audrey so take it with a grain of salt.

Character information:

• 35:52 - The Duggie puppet is currently being worked on for release on the Merch Store. If I had to guess, the delay is based on the fact Duggie's puppet also comes with a gold chain and a cap and they might want to get those in the design too. Also expect more "cool stuff" on the merch end that hasn't been announced. The Duggie stuff is reaffirmed at 3:47:13.

• 55:53 - Part of the reason Scooter rarely appears is because it's difficult to schedule filming sessions to work with Matthew's schedule (since he does have a full time "real" job)

• 2:00:54 - Turns out, Audrey actually teased Charleyyy's return here a day before "Junior's Deadly Idea" came out. Of course, the video's out by now but still worth mentioning.

• 2:13:10 - The crew has continued to talk about bringing back Roy (the cool kid, not the Koopaling) in some way. Who knows if anything will come of it though.

• 2:31:42 - Elaina is currently designing a puppet for Junior's Mom.

• 3:24:51 - In response to a fan asking if there'll be Shrek and Woody human puppets, Audrey says "probably not", though she then thinks it over a bit more and says "maybe". However, it is worth nothing she seems to mistake the question as asking for a direct puppet recreation of Shrek and Woody ala Human Ken, rather than the presumably renamed/different looking form characters like Marvin and Duggie have. Interpret this however you may, though it seems obvious she hasn't heard much about either character in a while, and thus I doubt they'll be returning anytime soon.

• 3:39:16 - Logan still has his old plushes; Audrey speculates they're locked in a safe somewhere.

SML Videos information

• 26:39 - Logan's been talking behind the scenes about making a video based on the new Five Nights At Freddy's movie. Let's see if it actually pans out this time, given the last time he said he'd make an FNAF video (little over a year ago) didn't. Reaffirmed at 3:07:34.

• 27:28 - Logan plans on continuing the "Jeffy Wick" series. (though she prefaces this with "I think" so not definitive)

• 30:15 - Anthony does all the scripts for Jeffy Ball Z, not Logan. You'd already know this if you saw the BTS videos but I know a lot of people don't watch those. Also, the release date of Jeffy Ball Z 5 is currently undetermined,so it probably isn't coming out anytime soon. Reaffirmed at 1:56:27, 2:34:43, 3:08:37 and 3:44:45.

• 33:45 - The fate of the "Cody Potter" series is up in the air; it seems Logan hasn't talked about continuing it.

• 40:48 - There is most likely not going to be another "SpiderKen" video; Logan doesn't want to do them anymore because YouTube keeps on automatically placing the SpiderKen videos in "YouTube Kids". Reafirrmed at 2:16:07. He might reconsider if he finds a way around that though.

• 1:01:53 - The reason we don't see the SML School Bus anymore is because the lease expired and Logan chose not to renew it.

• 1:51:47 - Part of the reason they chose to destroy Jeffy's old car for "Jeffy's Dare" is because the car was old, was already falling apart and was scheduled for demolition anyways, so the crew decided to give it a cool send off.

• 1:56:09 - The crew is floating around ideas for Jeffy's 19th Birthday. I guess they haven't thought that far ahead yet in the Jeffy lore.

• 3:12:22 - The crew wants to do another live action video (ie: "Bowser Junior Orders A Pizza" or "Real Life Style"). I know that like a year ago they were filming scenes for a live action video to promote merch.

• 3:17:06 - While she doesn't seem completely confident, Audrey seems to confirm what most people already assumed; SML Animated is essentially the replacement for remakes. (Might seem obvious for most but some were still unsure)

• 3:35:49 - For fans of Lance's old Fan Mail videos; they were discontinued because they took too much time to edit for Lance's current upload schedule (which is almost daily). Audrey expresses interest in bringing it back though, as well as the taste test videos at 3:52:42.

Meet and Greet and SML Store information

• 35:00 - The crew hasn't decided when the next Meet and Greet will be.

• 2:03:31 - There MIGHT be a meet and greet in South Carolina.

• 2:10:37 - There are currently no plans for Meet and Greets that require the crew to travel long distances. So no LA or anything like that. Reaffirmed at 3:13:44.

• 2:26:49 - A Louisiana Meet and greet would be very doable since Louisiana isn't very far from where the crew lives.

• 2:38:12 - The UK, Australia and Texas are all very popular fan requests for future meet and greets.

• 3:22:32 - There might be a Meet and Greet in Minnesota.

• 3:24:23 - Low likelyhood of a Hawaii Meet and Greet because Lance does not like Hawaii.

SML Crew info/trivia

• 1:21 - Elaina didn't attend the Meet and Greet because it was her dad's birthday.

• 3:51:47 - None of the crew have taken acting lessons. (unless you count Elaina's theater lessons). I guess they're just gifted.

• 3:54:05 - Rebecca teases that Pooby might be starting his own YouTube channel soon in the chat; she claims he's trying to figure out what type of content he wants to upload.

Funny moments/misc

• 23:42 - Fan makes a brave mistake telling "Goodman" he lost his house payment.

• 27:56 - Logan ponders whether he'd rather watch Cars 3 or Big Hero 6, and in a Shamaylan esque twist, chooses Big Hero 6.

• 30:30 - Fan brings, of all things, a red couch cushion for the SML Crew to sign (or more specifically Anthony).

• 45:48 - Lilly gets delivered to the Meet N Greet by Chilly and Logan holds her for about a half hour.

• 1:40:59 - Anthony walks up and draws on the phone camera with a sharpie out of nowhere.

• 1:57:27 - Fan points out Lil' T hasn't been used in over a year and Audrey seems legitimately shocked.

• 1:57:40 - As good as I can tell (which isn't very good), a fan asks if Lilly will be part of the SML crew when she grows up and Logan says "It'd be funny if she does".

• 2:01:59 - A fan floats the idea of getting mics that clip on shirts for the SML crew so we can actually hear what they're saying during the Meet and Greets. Audrey comments that's "impossible" for the time being, but could happen in the future. (Please)

• 2:19:34 - Humorously, Audrey expresses the opinion there's "too many Rose ex-boyfriend" videos and that there should probably be a "Marvin's ex-girlfriend" video to balance it out. Does that sound like a good idea?

• 2:31:11 - Devoted fan literally leaks his own address in the chat in hopes Lance will visit him. (?)

• 2:54:50 - As is tradition, the fake Poobys start to show up in the chat again.

• 2:57:03 - Fan shows off a custom Jeffy puppet.

Before I proceed with this post, I would like to establish the fact that I do not mean any harm to SML nor do i mean any harm to the man who made the new animations. I would also like you to take note that I am not referring to Nicktendo in this post, I actually enjoy his artstyle, animations, and the work and effort he puts into them.

'A Cartoon For You' has animated two SML videos so far. These are 'SML Animated: Jeffy!' and 'SML Animated: SuperPowers!'. The way these are drawn reminds me of Rick and Morty, or some other sort of animated Adult Swim cartoon. I actually love the styles when they're in those shows, but it's the way the characters are portrayed that I have a problem with. Jeffy is far too short to match his canonical height, which has a ratio to Marvin of 24:17. Now, I would like to include the fact that I do not currently have access to the animation as I am currently attending school and YouTube is blocked on the institution's Wi-Fi connection. I do, however, remember thinking that Jeffy seemed too short for the previously explained ratio of the height between him and his adoptive father. In an image with him beside Joseph, he appears short and is even shorter than Junior, somehow. Jeffy is approximately four years older than the three friends so this makes no sense at all.

Marvin also seems far too different as he has features that he did not possess in his puppet form, such as unshaven stubble, a discolored nose, curly hair, a misshapen moustache, a belt, suspenders, additional weight, discolored eyebrows, and misshapen eyes. The shoes may also be a differrent color than to what they are in his puppet form, but they are not displayed in the reference image I am using to type this. I have no clue as to why these were included as it breaks the spirit of SML's true values and nature.

The new design for Marvin is used, but Rose still has most of the same appearance as the Rosalina plushie. There are several differences with her depiction as well, but I cannot currently list them as she does not appear in the thumbnail, which I am using as a reference to write these words.

In the second animated video by 'A Cartoon For You' titled 'SML Animated: SuperPowers!' , I have found several flaws. The first problem is the fact that the word 'superpowers' is wrongfully capitalized in the middle of the word. The way they move and gesture seems too over the top, perhaps even too animated if you know what I mean. Now onto the character designs.

Cody's design is overly homos*xual, effeminate, and flamboyantly, pardon my language, g*y. That is mainly due to his seating position, in which, if i remember correctly, he sits with his legs crossed atop one another in a ladylike manner. It is also caused by his deep blue eyeshadow, which also gives off gothic vibes. Additionally, his hairstyle is inaccurate, his bow tie is brown while the puppet's bowtie is blue, and his head is rectangular. Not to mention the realization that Cody's design in the thumbnail to Lance Thirtyacre's reaction video had four teeth, the puppet has three teeth, and Cody as a washing machine in the official animation's thumbnail has two teeth. Cody is canonically buff so I appreciate how that has been kept in when he is shown in a swimming pool. but when shirtless his arms also show muscle when they don't when he is wearing a shirt. This does not happen with the puppet version of Cody Dennis Nutkiss.

Junior is far too obese, his eyes are the wrong color and his head is shaped like a lump. In the thumbnail, he has teeth whilst the puppet lacks that asset and has mentioned the very fact multiple times, even having the issue being the premise of a video (SML Movie: Junior's teeth!). His hairstyle resembles that of the Bowser Junior plush, however the rest of his appearance best matches the puppet. I appreciate him trying to bring back the spirit of the old SML videos, but please stick to one design or it will get much too confusing.

Finally, we have Joseph. I don't mind his design too much. I like how he kept the braces, is approximately his canonical height, and still has a basketball on his shirt. However, I have noticed some differences that really ruin the design. The puppet's sleeves are a lighter shade of green than the rest of the shirt, but the animation does not portray that. His shorts are not dark green as they appear on the actual Joseph. He had white on his shoes, and also wears socks. Both of those features are absent on the puppet.

Almost all of these characters have misshapen eyes and nonsensical added features. I would again like to clarify that I do not mean any harm and wish no offense to be taken from this post. It is my honest opinion and I wish to express that, but I apologize in advance for any distress and negativity this text may have caused.

I found out the page for the SML Animated version of SuperPowers has apparently been deleted. This makes no sense to me because the first SML animated video got a page just fine. Apparently the deleted reason was that it's just an animated version of the original, but the logic could also apply to like every remake ever.
