Overall, December is a mediocre month. Content here is pretty much a hit or miss, from great videos to wasted and/or terrible ones. Still, that month and 2021 ended with "Brooklyn Guy The Rapper" on a reasonably good note. This is an improvement over last year's "Jeffy's New Year Resolution", which turned out awful and hammered the final nail to 2020's dubious coffin. Anyways, let's go over the video ratings for December.

Perhaps, 2022 will be better than 2021 and 2020 for SML and as a whole.

Now let's go to 2021 as a whole. Overall, it is a mediocre year for SML. Like I said on the earlier mid-year review, 2021 started smoothly, but turned to rolling hills to steep mountains with many ups and downs. On one hand, we got hits like JAJGTP, Jeffy's Joyride, and SQUID GAME. On the other hand, we got misses like Jeffy Gets Ran Over, Jeffy's 17th Birthday, and Cody's Accident.

A decent video with a couple of jokes that missed.

2: Joseph's Grandparents - 6/10

One of those videos that is good for a couple laughs (albeit heavily carried by the ending) but that's about it.

3: Jeffy's Tree House - 5.5/10

Always sucks when there's a video with a fun first half and then it just falls off in the second half.

4: Brooklyn Guy The Babysitter - 4/10

Just a video with bland and mediocre jokes.

5: The Chain Letter - 6.5/10

Same as many other videos this month, just decent and that's it.

6: Elf On The Shelf - 6.5/10

One of the more unique Christmas specials concept wise and while it does deliver for the most part, a lot of the dialouge/jokes just felt super generic and cliche. Not enough to stop it from being decent though.

7: Brooklyn Guy's Christmas - 7/10

Nothing but a pretty standard, funny video.

8: Jeffy's Gucci Xbox - 7/10

By contrast, this is a rather unusual video that I think worked well.

9: Brooklyn Guy The Rapper - 5.5/10

Fitting for a final video for 2021, the last video is a polarizing one with strong positive and negative qualities alike, but I think the positive qualities slightly win out.

FAVORITE: Brooklyn Guy's Christmas and Jeffy's Gucci Xbox

LEAST FAVORITE: Brooklyn Guy The Babysitter

OVERALL: 6.06/10 (Decent). It's a fine enough, albeit somewhat disappointing end to a very polarizing year that was all over the place.

OVERALL SCORE FOR 2021: 5.94/10. Overall 2021 was a pretty polarizing year. It started strong, then started to become hit or miss after the C&D but then started to somewhat pick itself up in the final months. All in all, I'd consider it a borderline decent year; this is actually the highest score a year's gotten since 2016, which I definitely think is worth nothing.

All in all though I get the impression SML is starting to become more comfortable in it's new skin, and I do hope it finds its way by 2022.

Pros

• Brooklyn T. Guy was funny

• New location, which is always a plus

• The fact that Mario asked Rosalina why she always sides with Jeffy was not only kinda satisfying, but also really funny

• I mean, the concept isn’t bad

• Junior was mildly funny

Cons

• Jeffy was annoying

• Mario was bad

• Cody was pointless

• The ending was stupid

• JEFFY BEING A BRAT WILL NEVER BE FUNNY EVER

Overall, while 2021 has been somewhat improving recently, it’s no surprise that we're going to have some in-betweens like this

Slightly better than what I was accustomed to...

GOOD:

+Brooklyn Guy is great.

+Steve is great.

+Cody is good.

+Good and interesting concept.

NEUTRAL:

~Jeffy is OK.

~Junior is OK.

~Rosalina is tolerable.

BAD:

-Marvin is annoying.

-Some Marvin torture.

-Some filler.

Overall, this is now a reasonably good video.

I just finished the video, and my parents called me to go downstairs for dinner before I could even start my full review, so now I am on my phone, texting my initial thoughts. December is going bad for the SML wiki, and it looks like the SML videos is following suit to the downward trend. But at least, it didn’t turn out bad!

Expectation: ★★★★☆ (4)

Reality: ★★½☆☆ (2.5)

When I get back to my laptop, I’ll write my final thoughts about the video. My final opinion may vary.
