Updated version of a list I did last year, but with the new special included.

10: SAW III (4.5/10)

Unlike the other videos here, a pretty simple video in the worst ways. It pretty much has nothing to it apart from AIDS jokes that got stale quickly. Very disappointing video and easily the worst Junior Birthday special.

9: Bowser Junior's 21st Birthday (6/10)

The highlight of the video was easily Junior getting fake drunk off Sprite and going out on a ride on his Wall-E, and of course the "Addicts Anonymous" confession. I also do think the flip of 12th into 21st was clever but at the same time some of the material is just... there. It's a fine video but not something I'd go out of my way to watch and definitely not compared to any of the choices above it on the list.

8: Bowser Junior's 6th Birthday (6/10)

This is probably the definition of a decent video to me. This video does have a few very good jokes (like Margaret and Screwball doing their normal actions, the pinata scene and the weird ending of Junior suddenly becoming a T-Rex and eating his cake being my favorites) but the rest of the video, well, it's not bad but it's not laugh out loud funny either, it's pretty much just a consistent mild chuckle throughout.

7: Bowser Junior's 9th Birthday (7/10)

Okay to be honest, this is probably the lightest 7/10 I've given. In fact I actually do consider this rating an overshoot, but honestly I can't be bothered to make it more accurate. While the first half was admittedly pretty dumb, the second half was quite high energy and fun, probably one of the more successful "style over substance" scenes in the show and it makes me smile whenever I view it.

6: Junior's 13th Birthday (7/10)

Another pretty good birthday video. I don't really have much to say about it, even though I like it. It's pretty much just a normal good video for me. Pretty much everything lands for me. I'm sorry but I really can't say much else on it.

5: Bowser Junior's Birthday Cake (7/10)

2013 in general was an interesting year of SM, one of my favorites actually. Most of the videos had a minimalist appeal where the plot, settings, characters were minimal and yet still amusing in their own right, and this video was no exception. It's mostly all the little stuff that makes this video for me. Bowser's threats towards Pee Pee, the cooking segments with Chef Pee Pee and Toad, and the birthday scene at the end (including of course, the classic "Happy Birthday to the bastard" song), all that small stuff combines to make something simple but still memorable and amusing.

4: Bowser Junior's 10th Birthday (7/10)

One of the more unique and stylistically interesting videos of the list. While there are some jokes that fall flat and the pacing is a little inconsistent, the weirdness of the whole "alternate reality" plot plus a solid beginning and ending is enough to keep this video in the "good" range.

3:Bowser Junior's 7th Birthday (7.5/10)

I slept on this video for a few years honestly but after rewatching it for the list I've got a newfound appreciation for it. This is sort of like a better version of Bowser Junior's 6th Birthday for me in the sense that there's only a couple of incredible jokes, but this time the other jokes are mostly hilarious rather than just okay (such as the Pin The Tail on Doofy scene, Junior's various gifts, the ending, the SpiderMan jokes), etc. And the incredible jokes (like Brooklyn Guy smashing his pinata, complete with the slow motion) are probably some of the most stupid awesome stuff we've gotten in any SML movie.

2: Bowser Junior's 8th Birthday (8/10)

As far as horror SML videos go this is probably one of my favorites. I think this video nails the blend between horror and comedy nearly perfectly. There is not a whole lot of SML videos that simultaneously set off an ominous aura throughout with all the little details (like the blood on the pizza, the creepy anamatronics in the background, etc) while also being laugh out loud funny. Undeniable classic and easily one of the show's most successful ventures into non-comedy genres in my opinion.

1: Bowser Junior's 11th Birthday (8/10)

This may have come off as an obvious choice for number 1, but I think it's justified, this is just a great video all around. I admit, I frequently flip flop between calling this video and "Junior's 8th Birthday" my favorite, but my main reason for placing it on top is that on top of being amusing, it also is a video that makes you remember a lot of things about the series that you probably take for granted. It's really a perfect showcase of how much Junior adds to the series and how much would be lost without him, and when it comes to celebrating a character's birthday that's really the best honor you can get.

Since I did one for Jeffy, of course it only made sense to do one for the other SML character with yearly birthday specials. Yeah? Thought so. And I think it's gonna be a bit more interesting since I usually consider Junior's birthday specials to be some of the most interesting videos of the year. Let's just get into it. Once again it's worst to best. And before you hop on me for being late, remember one of these videos got uploaded in December.
